"It's Susie's nap time, " Dad said.

爸爸说，“苏西的午睡时间到了”。

Susie shook her head." No nap. Susie isn't tired."

苏西摇了摇头说，“不想睡午觉。苏西不累”。

"Then we'll go for a walk first."

“那我们先去散步吧。”

Dad zipped Susie into her jacket and buttoned himself into his coat.

爸爸给苏茜拉上夹克的拉链，给自己扣上外套的扣子。

They walked past the playground, past the swings, past the man selling pretzels on the corner, and home.

他们走过操场，经过秋千，路过街角卖椒盐卷饼的人，然后回到了家。

Dad unzipped Susie's jacket and unbuttoned his coat.

爸爸拉开苏茜外套的拉链，解开外套的扣子。

"Are you nice and tired now, Sweetie?" he asked."

他问，“亲爱的，你现在觉得累了吗？”

No nap, "Susie said, "We'll dance, "Dad said. "Dancing is very tiring."

“不想睡午觉。”爸爸说，“我们跳舞吧，跳舞很累人的！”

They boogied and bongoed and did the creepy camel.

他们跳布吉舞，跳邦戈舞，跳骆驼舞。

"No nap,"Susie said.

苏西还是说，“不想睡午觉。”

"Let's do some exercises, "Dad said.

爸爸说，“我们做些运动吧。

"Want to, Susie?"

“想去吗，苏西?”

They did push-ups, and windmills,

他们一起做俯卧撑，翻跟斗，

and stood on their heads.

还有倒立。

"I bet you're tired now, Susie? "Dad said.

爸爸说，“我打赌你现在累了吧，苏西？”

Susie shook her head." No nap. "

苏西摇了摇头，“不想睡午觉。”

"Grrr, "Dad growled in a voice like a lion.

“哼!”爸爸像狮子一样咆哮着。

"I'm going to tell you a story, Susie.

“我给你讲个故事吧，苏西。

I'm going to sing you a song.

我给你唱首歌。

Then you'll lie down like a good little girl.

然后，你就乖乖地躺下。

Daddy promised Mommy that Susie would take a nap. "

爸爸答应过妈妈苏西会睡午觉的。”

"No nap, "Susie said.

“不想睡午觉。” 苏西说。

Dad slumped on Susie's bed.

爸爸瘫倒在苏茜的床上。

"Teddy's napping. Dolly's napping.

“泰迪睡着了，多莉睡着了。

The big, yellow dump truck is napping.

这辆黄色的大卡车睡着了。

Come lie next to Daddy. "

过来躺在爸爸旁边。”

Susie lay down.

苏茜躺了下来。

"Susie needs a drink of water, "she said.

苏茜说，“苏茜想要一杯水。”

"I'll get it, "Dad said. "You stay here, nice and quiet."

"Susie needs her balloon, "she said,

"and her hat with the flowers on it,

and her bubbles, and her sunglasses.

"Susie needs her pink socks, too,

and her tumble money, "Susie said.

"OK?" Dad sat on the bed and took Susie's hand.

"Let's pretend we're little mice, so warm and snuggly here in our mouse bed."

He lay down and closed his eyes. "Sleepy little mice who don't talk and who don't move and who stay very, very quiet. "

"Daddy?" Susie whispered. But Dad didn't answer.

"Daddy, I love you. "Susie put her glasses on Dad's nose and her hat with the flowers on his head. She kissed his chin beneath his snore.

爸爸，我爱你。苏西把她的眼镜戴在爸爸的鼻子上，把她那顶有花的帽子戴在爸爸的头上。她在他鼾声中吻了吻他的下巴。

"Yoo-hoo!" someone called. Susie jumped up. "Mommy's home."

Mom ran in the room, swept Susie up, and hugged her tight.

妈妈跑进房间，把苏茜抱起来，紧紧地抱着她。。

She glanced around. " What in the world happened here?"

她环顾四周。这里到底发生了什么事？”

"Shhh!" Susie whispered. "Poor Daddy got tired. He's napping."

“嘘!”苏茜低声说。“可怜的爸爸累了。他在打盹。”

"And what about you, little girl? "Mom asked.

妈妈问，“那你呢，小姑娘？”

"No nap, "Susie said.

“不想睡午觉，” 苏茜回答。
