A Hunan‑origin nail‑art brand is taking over the streets of Johannesburg — every design hides a QR code. Scan a stranger's nails, follow their social profile, and boom: "fingertip socializing" is the new way to connect. The man behind it? A Hunan businessman who's called Joburg home for 17 years. With South Africa home to 60 million people, a third of whom are under 30, he knew this market was worth the wait. And it's not just pretty nails: local training programs and salon partnerships mean Chinese craftsmanship is creating jobs in South Africa, one manicure at a time.
