Ning County - A Stop On The Journey Across China

Ning County, with its long history, is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization. Zhou dynasty ancestor Gong Liu established the Ancient Bin State here, marking it as the origin of the Zhou clan. After the Eastern Migration of the Zhou court, the Yiqu ethnic group founded a kingdom that endured for over 500 years. First established as a county during the Qin dynasty, it was renamed Ningzhou during the Western Wei period, a designation retained through successive dynasties until the Qing era.

宁县历史悠久，是中华民族的发祥地之一。周先祖公刘曾在此建立古豳国，属周族发祥地。平王东迁后，义渠族建立君国，长达500多年。秦始置县，西魏改称宁州，一直沿袭至清代。

As a shining pearl on the Loess Plateau, Ning County boasts beautiful ecological environments with a forest coverage rate of 41.8%. Nine rivers including the Jing River and Malian River flow through its territory. Rich in natural and cultural landscapes, its main attractions include the Ancient Bin Cultural Tourism Zone, Guihua Garden Forest Park, Qin Straight Ancient Road, Yiqu Ancient Capital, and Jining Tower – all imbued with historical significance, making it an excellent destination for sightseeing and leisure vacations.

宁县是黄土高原上的一颗璀璨明珠，生态环境优美，森林覆盖率高达41.8%，泾河、马莲河等9条河流流经境内。境内有丰富的自然和人文景观。主要景点包括古豳文化旅游区、桂花园森林公园、秦直古道、义渠古都、辑宁楼等，充满了历史的底蕴，是绝佳的观光旅游、休闲度假胜地。

As a major agricultural and livestock production hub in Gansu Province, Ning County is renowned for its distinctive products: Zaosheng cattle, Ningzhou meat sheep, apples, Cao apricots, Huanggan peaches, Jiulong golden dates, daylily flowers, and morel mushrooms. It stands as one of China's most optimal regions for apple cultivation. Local delicacies worth savoring include Ning County's blood jelly noodle soup, crispy layered pancake (Youxuanfeng), sour soup hand-torn noodles, mutton paomo, fried dough twists (Guoguo), and thick crusty flatbread (Guokui).

宁县是甘肃省的农畜产品生产大县，如早胜牛、宁州肉羊、苹果、曹杏、黄甘桃、九龙金枣、黄花菜、羊肚菌等特色农畜产品都驰名陇上。这里也是中国苹果最佳适生优生区之一。当地最受欢迎的美食：宁县粉汤羊血、宁县油旋风、酸汤小揪面、羊肉泡馍、油炸果果、锅盔等地方风味小吃值得你的品尝。

Notable figures from Ning County span multiple fields: Ren Dingchang (revolutionary), Zhang Peihe (culture), Ba Longfeng (literature), Zhou Fuyuan (arts), and Jia Zhilong (arts), collectively representing the county's contributions to revolutionary, cultural and artistic heritage.
