谷歌母公司“字母控股”加入科技行业裁员浪潮，宣布裁员1万2千人。

谷歌2019年底有11万9千名员工，疫情期间员工增长至18万7千，这次裁员大概占6%。裁员之后员工数量仍远比疫情之前高。

业界不太担心高科技公司的这波裁员浪潮，他们认为这些人很快会在小一点的公司找到职位。美国12月份实际上增加了22万3千个职位。

谷歌及微软都宣布将加大对人工智能的投入。

目前大公司里面，苹果尚未有大规模裁员。

英国首相苏纳克因在汽车后座未系安全带而被罚款。

苏纳克为了宣传一项政策，在汽车后座拍摄社交媒体视频的时候没有寄安全带，被警擦罚款100英镑。如果认罚，交款了事；如不认罚，可以上庭辩论，由法官判决，也许撤销，也许罚更多，最多500英镑。

苏纳克承认是自己的过错，向公众道歉并将缴纳罚款。

Mr Sunak fully accepts this was a mistake and has apologised, adding that he would pay the fine.
